POSITION SUMMARY The Post Market Mechanical Engineering Co-Op role on the Post Market Engineering Team will use hands-on engineering principles to conduct post market investigations of FDA approved medical devices. In this position, you will conduct complaint failure investigations and support limited market releases of novel engineering products. In this position you will develop a basic and broad engineering skillset to include root cause analysis, fixture design, Impella product knowledge, and cardiology clinical background. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for identifying and researching failures to improve product quality and reliability. • Develop, record, and perform various failure analyses on systems and components to identify root cause. • Establish root cause failure analysis techniques, processes, and test methods. • Apply statistical tools to analyze data and drive problem resolution. • Support sustaining engineering projects by proposing drawing and specification changes, modifying engineering models and drawings, designing test fixtures, conducting testing, and analyzing data. REQUIREMENTS • Experience with root cause analysis, fixture and test development preferred. • Proficiency with Engineering CAD software. SolidWorks preferred. • Familiarity with analytical software, such as Matlab and Minitab. • Ability to solve problems independently. • A passion for medical devices and making a significant positive impact on patients. Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship. The anticipated base pay for this position is between 22$ per hour and 51.50$ per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. This position is overtime eligible. Intern/Co-ops may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs such as medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, and the Company’s consolidated retirement plan in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
