Front End Software Engineer

Uplight is creating a new category of energy. We make software that manages energy resources in homes and businesses—including things like smart thermostats, electric vehicles, solar panels, storage batteries, heat pumps, and even people’s behavior—to generate, shift, or save energy to balance the grid, making it more efficient and reliable. We are looking for a Front End Software Engineer to drive our company forward, and help us lead the clean energy revolution! How you will make an impact: We are searching for a Front End Software Engineer who is passionate about changing the way millions of people save energy. You’ll work on a capability-focused engineering team that designs, builds, and maintains scalable and performant APIs and User interfaces. You will contribute to developing, testing, and optimizing interactive web applications while ensuring a seamless user experience. We expect our team members to: • Act with integrity, even when it’s hard • Always stay curious and ready to learn • Work to meaningful outcomes, mindful of each step • Operate as a unified team, made stronger by uniqueness What you bring to Uplight: • 3+ years of professional Front-end software engineering experience. • Experience with Front-end technologies including Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3. • Experience with Design best practices, modular architecture, modern Front-end build tools and deployment strategies. • Ability to design scalable solutions with a focus on performance optimization and efficient data handling. • Experience writing maintainable tests and documentation to support your work • Familiarity with cloud computing, microservice architecture, and containerization • Eagerness to learn and be mentored by senior-level teammates • Insatiable curiosity and the ability to give and receive feedback gracefully and effectively Bonus Skills: • Experience with the team’s current tech stack which includes: • React • Python • Ruby • Go • AWS • Docker/Kubernetes • Terraform • DataDog • A hidden talent that will delight your co-workers Why Join Uplight in Leading the Fight Against Climate Change? Salary Range: $100,000 to $110,000 USD + 10% MBO In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
