Retail Associate Trainee (Entry Level Retail Banker)

About the position The Retail Associate Trainee position at Valley National Bank is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to start their career in retail banking. Responsibilities • Perform all transactions required by customers using appropriate technology. , • Process deposits and withdrawals, including loan payments and holiday club payments. , • Sell money orders and cashiers' checks. , • Process or balance individual cash boxes and complete necessary office work. , • File signature cards and complete end-of-day proof. , • Maintain and balance a cash box. , • Utilize technology such as Teller Scanning Equipment and Cash Recycling machines. , • Support customers in the use of Coin Machines. , • Meet customer expectations and achieve service quality standards. , • Maintain knowledge and compliance with the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies. , • Participate in and complete required training and development experiences. Requirements • High School Diploma or GED. , • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. , • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. , • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. , • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and high accuracy. , • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. , • Ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. , • Proficient computer skills. , • Prior cash handling and/or customer service experience preferred.
