Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior General Ledger (GL) Bookkeeper to join our dynamic Bookkeeping team. This fully remote role will report to the Senior Bookkeeping Supervisor and work closely with the Senior Bookkeeping Director. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical accounting expertise, process‑driven mindset, and a proactive attitude that aligns with arenaflex’s culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and review month‑end journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned GL segments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Own the monthly close process for multiple business units, coordinating with cross‑functional partners to meet tight deadlines.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial records by preparing and reviewing GAAP‑consolidated financial statements, supporting the preparation of quarterly and annual reports.
  • Partner with external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews, providing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve complex accounting issues, improve data flow, and drive process enhancements.
  • Lead special projects aimed at automating manual tasks, improving data quality, and increasing overall efficiency of the bookkeeping function.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for GL activities, ensuring knowledge transfer and consistency across the remote team.
  • Mentor junior bookkeeping staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a strong plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands‑on GL bookkeeping experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of US GAAP, PCAOB standards, and SOX/internal controls.
  • Systems Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with NetSuite, Coupa, and GSuite (or comparable cloud‑based ERP and collaboration tools).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large data sets, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex accounting concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Self‑Motivation: Proven track record of working independently, managing priorities, and delivering results under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets expertise, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macro development.
  • Experience with financial reporting tools such as Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to multi‑entity consolidations and intercompany eliminations.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present financial insights.
  • Strong project management abilities, with a history of leading process‑improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning—participation in professional development courses, webinars, or industry conferences.
