The Lead Software Engineer is an intermediate technical leadership role responsible for guiding the team in adhering to approved architecture, while designing and delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions. This role contributes to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of applications, while establishing and promoting best practices in software development, coding standards, code reviews, testing, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly proficient in JavaScript, and experienced in architecture and design. This role is expected to deliver complex components of projects and serve as a technical leader within the team. Essential Functions: Understand and contribute to the end-to-end technical flow of projects Collaborate with business stakeholders and architects to design and implement effective solutions aligned with best practices Lead and influence technical discussions, sharing expertise and driving sound decision-making within the team Provide hands-on technical leadership to solve complex problems and guide development efforts Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and development best practices Champion high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software design Champion strong unit testing and continuous quality improvement Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously improve development practices Act as a go-to resource for innovation, proof-of-concepts, and evaluating new tools or approaches Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience 8+ years of experience in software development Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript Strong attention to detail and a solid foundation in software architecture and design Hands-on experience with PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle SQL, UNIX (Solaris), and C-Shell Experience working in full-stack development environments Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and industry best practices Proven ability to work in complex technical environments Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SmartCOMM / Smart Communications platforms Experience in the financial services industry Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SOLID principles Additional Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities Excellent communication and technical leadership skills Experience working on Agile teams delivering multiple concurrent projects Disclaimer: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications.
