Title: Data Migration Specialist IV Location: Remote (Flexible Time Zones; ability to support Europe AM & Asia PM) Duration: 6+ Months (possibility of extension) Pay Rate: $67.57/hr W2 Description / Summary This role focuses on planning and executing large-scale data migrations across multiple business units while ensuring security, performance, and user experience standards. The specialist will collaborate with global stakeholders, run automated migration tools, provide detailed reporting, and guide best practices before, during, and after cutovers. Strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and cross-functional communication are essential. Job Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with business and project leaders to set goals, expectations, and timelines for migrations.
  • Use tools to set up and execute migrations, including running automated scripts, scans, and post-migration reporting.
  • Gather and analyze post-migration feedback to improve processes and user experience.
  • Interpret reports to recommend optimal data organization for performance, security, and usability in compliance with UMG Digital Media and other corporate guidelines.
  • Confirm migration plans with project teams and business units, manage preparation timing, re-sync data, and coordinate final cutovers.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues pre- and post-migration, including reorganizing data and removing duplicates/stale files.
  • Partner with Communication and User Experience teams to incorporate feedback and define best practices.
  • Update and maintain documentation for post-migration support teams and actively suggest process improvements to streamline future migrations.
  • Manage ongoing requests, support tickets, and international migration activities outside regular hours.
  • Maintain team resources such as Monday boards and SharePoint-hosted files.
  • Coordinate with Ci Media and other partners to ensure optimal user experiences and archive data as needed.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience Top Skills

  • Technical Expertise in Data Migration Tools & Methods
  • Hands-on experience with BitTitan, SkyKick, ShareGate, Google Workspace Migrate, Azure Data Factory, or custom ETL solutions.
  • Strong scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, SQL) for automation, transformations, and validation.
  • Understanding of structured/unstructured data, APIs, and staging processes (SFTP, cloud storage, etc.).
  • Data Analysis & Validation
  • Ability to profile, clean, and transform data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong SQL skills to validate record counts, reconcile data sets, and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Familiarity with metadata, file structures, and mapping exercises.
  • Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting
  • Experience diagnosing failures in large-scale migrations (timeouts, corrupted files, schema mismatches, access/auth issues).
  • Ability to design cutover strategies and rollback plans with minimal downtime.
  • Project & Process Discipline
  • Proven success executing structured migration projects (phased rollouts, checkpoints, reporting).
  • Ability to create repeatable, documented processes that scale across environments.
  • Strong documentation and reporting habits (validation reports, migration logs, dashboards).
  • Collaboration & Communication
  • Skilled in translating technical issues into business language for stakeholders.
  • Experience leading migration workshops, UAT sessions, and post-migration support conversations.

Additional Expertise

  • Microsoft SharePoint Migration Manager (OneDrive/SharePoint migrations), Microsoft Purview Compliance Data Lifecycle Management (import PSTs), Box Shuttle (Box migrations), CyberArk, PowerShell, SharePoint administration, and MS Power Platform.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independent action with minimal direction.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience delivering technology and collaboration programs; music/entertainment industry background is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills with success across multiple cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with senior leadership.

Education / Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
  • Microsoft or other relevant IT certifications preferred.
