Java Engineer Level III - AWS , Kafka, Kubernetes (MEXICO ONLY)

About the position CONSULTFIZ LATAM, a fully owned subsidiary of Confiz LLC, is seeking a Software Engineer with strong backend experience focused on Java development. The role requires strong experience building scalable distributed systems using Java and modern cloud technologies. This is a position for a Fortune 500 client.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software systems to support Supply Chain services and warehouse management.
  • Design, architect, and implement scalable and reliable backend systems to solve complex business problems.
  • Define, scope, and estimate tasks, ensuring efficient delivery of work artifacts.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Perform both automation and manual testing to guarantee software quality.
  • Document system designs and technical decisions clearly.
  • Provide on-call support for the systems owned by the team, including incident triaging and resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on priorities and deliverables.
  • Lead small engineering efforts, helping prioritize work intake and sharing updates with stakeholders.
  • Participate in debugging, root cause analysis, and continuous system improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software development.
  • 5+ years of experience working with SQL databases.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot framework.
  • Experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong experience with RESTful architecture and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure tools such as GitLab and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic and Splunk.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience in incident analysis and root cause determination.
  • Experience with on-call support and production environments is required.
  • Ability to lead small teams or initiatives and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Supply Chain domain is a plus.
