BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire tutors to work with scholars in partnership with the district schools. Tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 1-5, in grades K-8 in building skills in math and literacy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Engage with scholars in grades k- 8 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills,
- Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided.
- Use data to drive instruction.
- Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning- experiences for scholars.
- Participate in coaching from an instructional coach.
- Use an asset-based approach in working with scholars.
- Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff.
- Complete all training.
- Substitute teacher Certificate required
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity.
- Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS).
- New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)
- Experience with Google suite functions including Google Sheets and Forms.
- Professional skills include attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness.
- Reliable transportation to travel to sites.
- Bilingual preferred
- Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy.
- Background Clearance- The final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification.
- NJ Fingerprint Certificate and local COVID requirements for school at which you are working including any mask rules must be followed while indoors.

- School 4 - 900 E Gibbsboro Rd, Lindenwold, NJ 08021 - (1 pm - 3pm/ 15 hrs. Per week)
- School 5 - 550 Chews Landing Road Lindenwold, NJ 08021- (10am - 3pm/ 16.5 hrs. Per week)
- Middle School - 40 White Horse Avenue Lindenwold, NJ 08021- (after school hrs. 3 pm- 4pm/ 18 hrs. Per week)
- Embedded school days- 3 days a week (Tuesday- Thursday)
- Program will run for 26 weeks
